After almost a decade away, legendary nightlife brand Sankeys is making its long-awaited return to Manchester. The first official Sankeys club in the city since the iconic Ancoats site closed in 2017 will open in Manchester city centre with an intimate 500-capacity underground space.
A New 500-Capacity Venue With Classic Sankeys Energy
The all-new Sankeys Manchester has been built to recapture the raw, underground atmosphere that made the brand world-famous. The venue will feature a stripped-back, basement-style design and Sankeys’ signature LED matrix grid installation, immersing clubbers in light, sound and energy.

Voted Best Club in the World in 2010, Sankeys remains one of the most influential names in global club culture. Its legacy in Manchester helped shape generations of electronic music fans and launched the careers of countless artists.

From Saturday 7th February, the venue will launch Sankeys Saturdays, a weekly club night that will also see the return of the legendary Tribal Sessions with a monthly residency.

The new venue aims to provide a platform for the next generation of underground house, tech-house, and techno artists, while also celebrating classic Sankeys residents.
A No-VIP, No-Phones Dancefloor
Creative Director David Vincent shared the vision behind the relaunch:
“What we’re creating is an intimate underground club with a chill out room. We will only be open one night a week on the Saturday. There will be no VIP or phones allowed on the dancefloor everyone is a VIP. People need to stop taking pictures and start dancing to the beat.”
