One month of UNVRS Ibiza

July 1, 2025by Oliver Golden

A month ago, a sleek silver dome appeared in the Ibiza countryside, part spaceship, part nightclub, part fever dream. It called itself UNVRS. Locals called it ambitious. Tourists called it the next must-visit. And now, 30 days later, Ibiza has a new gravitational centre.

This isn’t just another club. UNVRS arrived not quietly, but like a comet an all-consuming, multi-sensory reimagining of what a superclub can be in 2025. So, after one month of headline-making residencies, viral moments, and whispered reviews, how does it hold up?

The Arrival: Bigger, Stranger, Braver

Built on the bones of the legendary Privilege (once the Guinness World Record holder for largest nightclub on Earth), UNVRS didn’t just fill a void – it cracked it open.

Its vast 6,500-square-meter dome holds five immersive zones, from the open-air Gravity Terrace to a secret mini-club hidden in the bathrooms (yes, really). Entering feels like crossing into a cosmic fuelled sci-fi set. You’re met with towering mirrored corridors, kinetic light sculptures, and the kind of audio clarity that makes even a whisper feel intentional.

Opening night set the tone: Carl Cox launched the Sunday residency with a career-spanning techno set, flanked by aerial performers descending from the dome’s ceiling. But beneath the theatrics was a careful choreography — a club designed for both spectacle and intimacy.

The Vibe: Controlled Chaos, in a Good Way

Despite its scale, UNVRS feels surprisingly navigable. That’s by design. The club’s creators speak often about “flow,” and it shows crowd movement is natural, pockets of quiet are easy to find, and there’s always a new space to discover. The “Wild Comet,” a micro-club tucked behind mirrored walls near the toilets, became an early legend. A fully functioning room with its own DJ and sound system, it’s the kind of Ibiza myth you actually can find if you know where to look.

The music? As expected, top-tier. Eric Prydz, Jamie Jones, Fisher, and David Guetta have all taken up weekly slots. But it’s not all big names. On weekdays, lesser-known acts especially from Europe’s thriving electronic scenes have been given room to stretch out in front of discerning, curious crowds.

Who’s Going: The New Jet Set

UNVRS doesn’t pretend to be cheap. With standard entry often starting at €120 and cocktails comfortably north of €25, this is not a walk-in-off-the-beach kind of venue. But what surprised many is how much value the club manages to pack into that price.

Every night is a production. Every room is a statement. And every visitor from VIPs in hidden balconies to club kids discovering the Tree of Life sculpture at 4am gets to feel like they’re part of something new.

There’s a precision to the luxury here, too. It’s not garish or overbranded. Even the most premium experiences (like the “zero-gravity” drink pairing in the VIP Catacombs) feel curated rather than flaunted.

The Verdict: Does It Work?

After a month, one thing is clear: UNVRS didn’t just open. It landed.

Yes, it’s expensive. Yes, it’s designed for social media as much as it is for music lovers. But underneath all that, UNVRS is also deeply considered. It respects sound. It respects architecture. And it respects Ibiza’s long-standing love affair with reinvention.

Not everyone will find their soul night here. Some will still prefer the dusty romance of a countryside afterparty or the charm of a tiny terrace with a vinyl DJ. But even those skeptics will admit UNVRS sets a new benchmark for what a 21st-century club can look like.

And in a scene that thrives on forward motion, that might just be its most Ibiza-worthy legacy yet.
